Out West Bus is named after two summer trips I took in grade school where we traveled in a big green van and camped at National Parks across the U.S. My first Out West Trip was the summer after 7th grade and we traveled west from Denver to Dinosaur, Yellowstone, Tetons, Yosemite, Red Woods, and Crater Lake (among others). The summer after 8th grade we traveled to the Boudary Waters and spent two weeks canoeing on the border between Minnesota and Canada.
The name of my bus is inspired by those summer trips and seeks to not only pay homage to those experiences, but to also regain some of that Out West spirit. Our logo even pays tribute to the t'shirt from the first trip (and yes, that's me). Notice the mountains, sun, and cactus:
